↑ There is no definitive way to interpret the confusing intentions. Did Lucinda Smith chose a different suitor? Did the town clerk misrecord the name of Noahd's wife? It is assumed that Noah is the man born in Wilbraham in 1781 since that is the only person of the name found, but there is not evidence for that identification.
