Nicholas H. Martin registered for the draft in 1917. He was married and was living at 1016 Thayer in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was working as a packer for Fort Wayne Edison Lamp Works. He was described as 5' 7" tall with brown eyes and brown hair.

Nicholas and Lottie had three children, one son and two daughters.

In 1942, when he registered for the World War II draft, he was living at 433 East Creighton in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was working at International Harvester Company located at Pontiac & Beuter Roads in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Nicholas was 77 years old when he died.

Nicholas' obituary reads, "Services for Nicholas H. Martin, 77, of 3510 Weisser Park Ave., will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Tom Mungovan Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. A rosary service is schedule for 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Martin died at 1:20 a.m. yesterday in St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Monroeville, he lived here most of his life and retired 12 years ago from International Harvester after 34 years' service as a machinist. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. Surviving are his wife, Lottie Gladieux; one son, Manford, Fort Wayne; two daughters, Mrs. Valeria Talerico and Mrs. Robert Bauman, Fort Wayne; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Arend and Mrs. Kathryn Arend, Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Lela Dawson, Monroeville; one brother, Paul, Monroeville; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren." Lottie's obituary reads, "LOTTIE C. MARTIN, 93, died Thursday at Parkview Memorial Hospital. Born in Monroeville, she lived in Fort Wayne most of her life. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Nicholas H., died in 1972. Surviving are two daughters, Valeria Talerico of Fort Wayne and Norma Bauman of Wolcottville; a sister Gladys Krominaker of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Services at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 518 E. DeWald St. Calling from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Tom Mongovan Funeral Home, 2221 S. Calhoun St. with a rosary service at 4 p.m. Calling also a half-hour before services at the church. Burial in Catholic Cemetery." [Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, Friday 2 July 1993]

They are both buried in the Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
