  1. ↑ This couple is shown in Source:Willard, Joseph. Willard Genealogy with no marriage date. No such marriage is found by searching. Sarah Wilder is said to have been born in Vermont. Marriages, especially first marriages, usually occurred near the residence of the bride, not the groom. The only record of a child found shows a birth in Vermont. Nathaniel would not yet be 21 in 1784 so unable to own property. Hence, neither the date nor location seems right, and given the lack of sources, is very doubtful.
