1850 Census: Annotated (1970) compiled by John P. Alderman Mart Dalton (1810-1893) was on his way to becoming the wealthiest man in the county. The son of John and Eleanor (Edwards) Dalton, he lived at Hillsville on Little Reed. His wife was Kesiah Hill (1816-1892) daughter of John and Martha (McClure) Hill. Three of his boys died in the war.
