They were married by Rev. P. F. Veniard with their baptismal names, Ludovicum Gladieux and Emiliam Coulardot. Their witnesses were Celestinus Gladieux and Hypolite Coulardot.

Louis was a farmer.

They had nine children, 8 daughters and one son.

Amelia's obituary reads, "Funeral rites for Mrs. Amelia Gladieux, aged 72, lifelong resident of Jefferson township, will be held Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Frank Henry, 11 miles east of this city on the Lincoln Highway, and at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church at Besancon. Burial in the church cemetery. Mrs. Gladeiux died Sunday at 5:10 a.m. at the Henry residence after a three-days' illness of obstruction of the bowels. The deceased was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and of the Rosary Society of that church. Surviving are the husband, Louis Gladieux; three daughters, Mrs. Henry, Mrs. Frank Rorick and Mrs. Frank Kennerk, all of Jefferson Township; two sisters, Mrs. E.S. Carter, of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. E.E. Entemann, of Toledo, O.; a brother, N.A. Coulardot, of Zulu, and 13 grandchildren. The body was returned to the home today from Schone's Sons' Funeral Parlors." Louis' obituary reads, "RETIRED FARMER DIES SUDDENLY - Louis J. Gladieux, 73, retired Jefferson township farmer, died suddenly at 12:30 o'clock Wednesday noon while in a local doctor's office. Death was attributed to coronary sclerosis, according to Dr. Walter H. Kruse, Allen county coroner. The deceased resided with a daughter, Mrs. Frank Henry, 10 miles east of the city. He was a lifelong resident of Jefferson township and was a member of the St. Louis Catholic church at Besancon and the Holy Name society. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Henry, Mrs. Frank Rorick and Mrs. Frank Kennerk, all of Jefferson township; two brothers, Frank of this city and Charles Gladieux, of Zulu; four sisters, Mrs. Louis Venderly of Tillman, Mrs. Charles Frame of this city, Mrs. Joseph Dager of Monroeville and Mrs. Edward Oberly of Zulu, and 16 grandchildren. The body will be taken to the daughter's home this afternoon from Julian Schome's funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at St. Louis church at a time to be announced later. Rev. Joseph Hession officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery." [Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, Thursday 29 April 1937, pg. 2]

They were both buried at the Besancon Cemetery at St. Louis Catholic Church in New Haven, Indiana.
