Ludwig (68, and a farm laborer) and Luise (58) Fenske, along with their son Friedrich (17, and a farm laborer), arrived in New York aboard the SS George Washington on 20 June 1909, having left Bremen on 12 June. Their nationality is given as Russian and their race as German. Their last permanent residence was Serpe, Russia. They were going to join their son and brother, Gustav, who was living in Highland, New York. This is presumably the Highland that is a neighborhood of Rochester, since a Gustav Fenske was living at 61 Atwater, Rochester, in 1878.
