Leonard and Ilo had one daughter.

In 1938, they lived at 2619 Holton Avenue in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Leonard worked as a gear cutter for International Harvester Company.

Leonard's obituary reads, "Leonard J. Gerardot, 66, of 3520 South Park Drive died at 10:15 a.m. yesterday in Parkview Memorial Hospital following a long illness. He was born near Monroeville and had lived in Fort Wayne 35 years. Mr. Gerardot was a retired processing engineer who had worked in the planning department at International Harvester. He retired in 1967 after 40 years' service. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society and belonged to the Catholic Order of Foresters. Surviving are his wife, Ilo; one daughter, Mrs. Janet Butler, Houston, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Lillian Barclay, Monroeville; three brothers, Andrew of Yoder, Noland and Merlin, both of Fort Wayne; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Tom Mungovan Funeral Home, and 11 a.m. at the church, the Rev. Eugene Koers officiating. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery, Besancon. The Holy Name Society and the Order of Foresters will have services at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday." Ilo's obituary reads, "ILO J. GERARDOT, 89, died at 9:15 a.m. Thursday at Hurst, Texas. Born in Lima, Ohio, she had lived in Fort Wayne most of her life and moved to Hurst 12 years ago. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Leonard, died in 1971. Surviving are a daughter, Janice Butler of Hurst; and three grandchildren. Services were in Texas. Calling from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, with wake service at 2 p.m. at Tom Mungoven Funeral Home, 2221 S. Calhoun St. Burial in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Besancon." They are both buried in the Besancon Cemetery at the St. Louis Catholic Church in New Haven, Indiana.
