'Notes: ... He transferred from Burwalde, Chortitza Colony to Schoenthal, Bergthal Colony sometime between 1853 and 1860 per Odessa Archive, Fund 6, Inventory 4, File 20279. That file gives his family's data from the 1858 Chortitza Colony Census and states that he was listed at Burwalde #43 in 1858 with his brother Abraham's family as well as in the 1850 Census. The census data indicates that his father's first name was Peter and it seems probable that he was the son of Peter Wiebe (b. ca 1786) #197456, but this has not yet proven.'
