This family is covered in Source:Doane, Alfred Alder. Doane Family: I. Deacon John Doane, of Plymouth, II. Doctor John Done, of Maryland, and Their Descendants, p. 97. The following children are listed, with the assertion "from Eastham records" (bracketed text based on info given verified by death record]: The vital records of Eastham were published in Mayflower Descendant, Vol. 32, p. 173 (membership required), and show: The four births from the Mayflower Descandant are found here, which appears to be a copy made by the town clerk of Orleans when Orleans split off. They are also found here, which appears to be a copy of Eastham vital records at the back of Vol. 2 of the Eastham Town Records, but is not uniform and could be the original? There is no acknowledgment or recognition of these births in Doane, so no information is given how to resolve this discrepancy. Note: "Richard Rich of Eastham on Cape Code and Some of His Descedants" by Evelyn Rich, NEHGR, Vol. 83, p. 269, uses Doane's list of dates with the same apparent lack of awareness of the discrepant records. The records Doane copied are found here, which is obviously a copy, not an original record, probably taken from memory or a family Bible. The two sets of records are simply incompatible. One appears to be a whole family but its credibility is hurt by being a copy that disagrees with what appears to be older records. In particular the gap between the parent's marriage in 1768 and the first birth in 1771 seems less likely than the other records which show the first birth in 1769. No probate or pertinent deeds have been found. A Joshua Doane in 1789 divides the estate inherited from father Solomon with brothers Solomon and Noah. References
