- ↑ Both Edward and John Twitchell served in the Canada Expedition, so both born by 1674 to be age 16 by 1690. Both are thought to be sons of Joseph, but Lydia was probably not his wife until about 1678 based on the fornication charge in 1679 after Patience is born (called Joseph's "now wife" in the judgement). So assuming one of John and Edward born about 1672, and the other 1674, Joseph must have married a different woman by 1672. See Source:Twitchell, Ralph E.
