    In the name of God, Amen. I, Joseph Scott, of Duplin County, NC, Planter...weak body but perfect mind thanks be to God; My daughter Jane Chestnutt, one dollar; My son Jonathan Scott, all stock that is at David Walkinson's, and negro fellow Will; My daughter Jerusha Scott, one feather bed, some furniture, two cows & calves; My son, Nehemiah Scott, the plantation I now live on, and all land on it, and negro fellow Jim; My daughter Peggy Scott, one feather bed, some furniture, two cows & calves; My daughter Ader Scott, one feather bed and some furniture, two cows & calves; My daughter Mary Scott, one feather bed, some furniture, two cows & calves; My beloved wife (not named) my negro wench Jennine, all stock that belongs to the plantation, and Jimmy my negro fellow...for maintenance of the children upon the plantation; Remainder of estate to be equally divided among my nine children Joseph Scott, Jonathan Scott, Nehemiah Scott, Jane Chestnutt, Jerusha Scott, Ader Scott, Ashea Scott, Mary Scott, Peggy Scott; Executors Jonathan Carr and son Jonathan Scott; wit.
