Notes

  • This couple continued to live at their "Thornfield" Plantation on the Cascade Creek until their death where they had raised 10 children. While several of their children migrated to Tennessee and settled in Hawkins, Davidson and Williamson Counties, the Cascade tract in Virginia is still (1989) owned by SCALES descendants and the family cemetery has been preserved.
