  6. There is no primary evidence for this marriage. There is a detailed discussion on the Talk page. None of the secondary sources cited give a complete picture, either neglecting to mention a first wife for Joseph Nichols, or knowing nothing about the second wife. Some are flat out wrong (all the ones attributing all children to Sarah Hemenway, for example, and any suggesting Joseph Nichols moved to Fitzwilliam, NH). The Haven Genealogy does not make the more egregious of the above errors, and may be right as far as it goes, butdoes not give its sources nor marriage date nor evidence, perhaps based on correspondence with a Hemenway relative. And still, it does not mention the first marriage or children from it, or even show all of Sarah's children as listed in the family record given by the Newton Genealogy.
