    "third of the tenth month" [3 Dec] 1649: "Joseph Knight of Water-towne" sells to John Bidulah of the same Towne a messuage in Watertown with 9 1/2 acres. Acknowledged 6 Apr 1652. "Hannah the wife of Joseph Knight did vollentaryly Surrender all her interest..." before Edward Johnson Recorder of Woburn 23 Mar 1651/52.

History of Woburn, Middlesex County, Mass, p. 624, unaware that Joseph had a son before moving to Woburn, assumes all children born to Joseph belonged to this couple, inadvertently including several that belong to Joseph Knight Jr., calling the Joseph Knight b. 1673 Joseph Jr. when he was actually the grandson.
    When Joseph Senior died in 1687, his estate was administered by Joseph Knight, which could not have happened if the administrator was born in 1673 (since he would have still been under age).
