It is known that Joseph's wife's name was Rebecca, but the evidence for her maiden name and the marriage date is not known.^[2]

↑ The Ancestral File gives Rebecca's maiden name as Brown and their marriage date as 15 Dec 1670 in Wethersfield, Hartford, Connecticut. Genealogical records collected by a Mr. Sparrell of Scituate, Massachusetts, now deceased, who was known to travel around New England examining records, also give her maiden name as Brown and the marriage date as 15 Dec 1670, but apparently in Hartford, Hartford, Connecticut. The marriage does not appear to be in the Barbour Collection of Connecticut Vital Records.
