  3.   Source:Stickney, Matthew Adams. Fowler Family, p. 56, suggests she was "probably the widow of John Trask of Salem, on whose estate she administered 20 June 1720". NEHGR, p. 161:49, says John Trask, s/o Osmond Trask, married, after 1715 when his third wife died, for his fourth wife Mary ---, who was granted administration of his estate 20 Jun 1720, but says nothing about a subsequent marriage for Mary. John was b. 1653, i.e., quite a bit older than Joseph Fowler, but John's last wife Mary needn't have been the same age as John.

John had by his second wife a son Josiah, b. 1691. Josiah had died before the final division of John's estate in 1728, though the exact date is not known. He married 1719 a Mary Woodberry, and so would have left an eligible widow Mary Trask as well, if his death occurred very soon after his marriage. This Mary would have been much younger, and probably a less likely candidate, given that Joseph's second wife died in 1728, with no known children being born to their marriage.
