Confusing records many times say that the 4 boys' mother was born in Kentucky and was Ellen Murphy, but other evidence suggests John, Joseph, Edward, and Robert were all sons of the first wife, Honora/Nora Hennessy, who was born in Ireland. Ellen's obituary says she is the mother of Robert (who was the last son, still alive in 1937).
