Jonathan Plowman Sr. (1688-1747) was brought over on a ship as an indentured servant at the tender age of 12. January 27 1701 (1700 O.S.) aboard the 'Robert and Elizabeth' the young man was headed towards Jamestown, Virginia. Apparently nobody in Jamestown wanted to purchase the services of a 12 year old boy so the ship must have sailed on to Baltimore, MD as was custom to sell the remaining indentured servants who weren't sold in Jamestown. |
