    NOTE: Subsequent research has shown that she was not the daughter of Hugh Wells.

    p. 231: 'Mary Wells. Frances in her will named her daughter "Gilburt," and made her beloved son Jonathan "Gilburd" executor. Jonathan Gilbert of Hartford, ... [in 1650] acquired a second wife Mary, by whom he had eight children, the first born 25 July 1651. She has long been identified as Mary Wells.'
