Family:Jonathan Downs and Abigail Ricker (1)

The Wentworth Genealogy Vol 1 by John Wentworth has two conflicting entries concerning this marriage and the birth of Abigail Ricker. The conflicts appear on pages 130 and 133. Two different Abigail Rickers are married to the same Jonathan Downs. The two Abigails are Abigail Ricker, the daughter of Moses Ricker and Sobriety Knox, and Abigail Ricker, the daughter of Aaron Ricker and Mary Knox. Both the Wentworth Genealogy and the New Hampshire Genealogical Record (7:51) indicate Abigail Ricker's date of birth as being December 19, 1767. Vital Records of Lebanon, Maine to the Year 1892 indicates that the Abigail Ricker, daughter of Moses and Sobriety (Knox) Ricker was born October 3, 1767. While a birth record for Aaron and Mary (Knox) Ricker's daughter Abigail has yet to be found, she could easily have been born December 19, 1767 and still fit within her family unit.
