Jonathan Belding [#8] m. (1) [child born 3 Apr 1761] Sarah Dickinson of Hatfield.
[Note: the basis for this assertion is unknown, no marriage record found, and may be incorrect, pending further research. Source:Bock, Margaret Buckridge. Descendants of Nathaniel Dickinson, p. 54, indicates this is Sarah, d/o John Dickinson and Mary Coleman, b. Hatfield about 1741. HOWEVER, John Dickinson's will mentions grandchildren John and Clarissa children of deceased daughter Sarah Belding. These children are not named in Jonathan's will, and his son Jonathan, who is a child of first wife Sarah, is not named in John Dickinson's will. The daughter of this John Dickinson is probably the one who married 1770 Samuel Belding. Clarissa's birth hasn't been found, but a John Belding was born to Samuel in Hatfield in 1778. Further note: subsequent to this analysis, the intention of Jonathan Belding of Northfield to Sarah Keyes was located, which provides the correct identification of Sarah.]
