Family:John Wright and Sarah Bragg (1)

I found, in June 2004, the register of Sara Bragg and Preston Wright's marriage in the Records Room of the Fayette County Courthouse in Fayetteville. Register of Marriages, 1884. This book lists the year of marriage as 1884. In contrast, Grandma has two old pages from a family bible (stored in plastic in the drawer of the makeup dresser in Granny's front bedroom in Beckley) on which is a copy of the certificate of marriage for John J. P. Wright and Sarah C. Wright. This family sheet indicates the same day and month, but a different year (i.e. 1883) of their marriage."This is to certify That John J. P. Wright and Sarah C. Wright were united by me in Holy Matrimony at Jas. H. Braggs on the 1 day of May in the year of our Lord 1883. In the presence of Joseph Carper, Lottie Bragg, & W. H. B. Signed A.J. Carper."
