PAGE, John, and Mary Parker [Sept. 12. CT.R.], 1733.
- Source:Holton, David Parsons. Farwell Ancestral Memorial. Henry Farwell, of Concord and Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and All His Descendants to the Fifth, p. p. 73 says pretty much what was originally posted here: that John Page, son of John Page m. Mary Parker, d/o Joseph Parker and Abigail Sawtelle, and had a daughter Sybil who married Daniel Farwell. Problems start, however, in trying to account for the John Page who married widow Martha Green in 1760. The husband of Mary Parker is a likely candidate as their last recorded child was born in 1755. The problem is that the death of Mary Page, w. John, in 1757, calls her the daughter of Phineas Parker (b. 30 Jan 1713/14). Based on the marriage in 1733 and naming a son Phineas, she seems far more likely to be the wife of John Page than the Mary specified by Holton. Given that, conclusive proof that Mary was the daughter of Phineas Parker is found in the distribution of real estate in Phineas Parker's estate settlement, dated 27 May 1745, which gives a portion to "Mary second Daughter & Wife to John Page", as well as John Page signing various documents, including said distribution.
