- ↑ Source:Pierce, Frederick Clifton. Foster Genealogy, Vol. 1, p. 239, lists some speculative children for this couple, for two of which no evidence has been found, namely, "Asabel" Page, and Phebe Page who m. "Considu" Hastings.
- It is suspected that Asabel should say Asahel. The one record found under the name Asabel that appears promising is, indeed, an error for Asahel. But this Asahel (son of Timothy and Lydia Page) m. 1812 Kezia Whitney so is too old for John and Abigail, whothemselves did not marry until 1799. Additionally, this Asahel died 1857, and is not mentioned in Abigail's will of 1846, again indicating he is not from this family. Asahel and Keziah's son Asahel Willard Paige b. 1817 clearly does not belong in John and Abigail's family, and no other good matches are found. So it is unclear what Pierce could have been referring to in this case. Presumably he simply didn't research Asahel enough to rule him out?
- Phebe Page m. New Salem 1799 Consider Hastings, so that identification appears incorrect since she would be too old by a generation to be in this family.
