    7 Apr 1701: Sam'll Townsend and Elizabeth Melens widow of Jn'o Melins allowed G'n unto Elizabeth Mellins Daughter of Jn'o Mellens late of Charlestown Marriner Decesed, a minor of about five years of age.
    13 Oct 1712: "Elizabeth Millins Daughter and only Child of John Millins sometime of Charestowne ... a minor in my Sixteenth Year of Age, have Chosen ... my Hon'd Unckle Joses Bucknam of Charlestowne aforesaid, my Guardian..."
    [Note: the relationship to Joses Bucknam serves to identify the mother, and possibly shows that sources saying John Mellen's wife was Elizabeth (Spring) Gale (see here) are incorrect.]

    15 Jan 1694/5: John Mellins of Charlestowne with knowledge and consent of Elizabeth his wife, for £12, to Samuel Townson Late of Rumey Marsh in the Limits of Boston his whole share being one fifth of a dwelling house in Charlestowne which was formerly his Mother Elisabeth Mellins given unto her by her ffather Richard Dexter in deed dated "22'd : 5'mo : 79".

    23 May 1694: Thomas Mellins of Boston with ye full and free Knowledge & Consent of Mary his Wife & William Mellins of Charlestown with free consent of Deborah his wife & Phineas Upham of Malden with ye free consent of Mary his wife for £36 to Samuel Townsend their respective shares, being three fifths, of dwelling in Charlestowne which was formerly theire Mother Elisabeth Mellins & given unto her by her ffather Richard Dexter in a deed dated "22'd:5'mo:1679".

    22 Mar 1694/95: John Mellins of Charlestowne Marriner "not knowing how it may please God to dispose of me in this my Intended voyage" give power of attorney to wife Elisabeth Mellins, including to sell his half part of house in Charlestowne on Mistick side with 14 acres, bounded by [among others] Joses Bucknam. 18 Nov 1695: Thomas Mellins and Richard Ely, witnesses, made oath that they saw John Mellins sign and seal this.
