Uncertain of the relationship. Pauline's name first appears in Minnesota/Duluth records as Marszak. That is probably not a Polish name. But the "l" in Marszalkiewicz has a "slash" through it, making the pronunciation something like the letter "w" in English. The "slash" makes the spelling of the word 'Marszał', pronounced something like "marsauw" look like Marszak when hand written. No person named Pauline of approximately her age is seen in the Budziszewko parish records from that time. So it's unlikely that she is related. But. . . . |
