Hutchins, Marvin Clayton. Nicholas Hutchins of Lynn and Groton, Massachusetts, and His Descendants: With a Genealogy of Allied Families. Santa Clarita, CA: C. Boyer, 3rd, 1989. pp. 2-3. states that John Hutchins "… married third, at age 74, 2 Nov. 1742, Mrs. Sarah (Hyde) Bacon, daughter of Jonathan and Dorothy (Kidder) Hyde and widow of Joseph Bacon of Woodstock, Conn. She was born 17 Oct. 1685 in Cambridge, Mass., and died in Canterbury, Conn., 16 Jan. 1773, having survived her husband."

Since Sarah Hyde's husband John Pike did not die until 21 September 1754, 24 years after Sarah Pike married Joseph Bacon, the identification of the third Mrs. Hutchins as Sarah, daughter of Jonathan and Dorothy (Kidder) Hyde is clearly inaccurate.
