"The deposition of John Prcae ae 65 yrs, dated 1 July 1679, states: '29 or 30 years ago, Mr. Hanniford, Mariner, lived in Boston in the house and grounds of Hope Allison, standing on land on which William Griggs lately built a house, and this house and land was accounted to be Hanniford's own property, and John Huntley lived on and thereof and paid said Hanniford rent for the same, and said Huntley's wife died there of small pox. They were Mr. Hanniford's tenants.' This statement gives the proof of Mr. Huntley's first marriage."
