The description of the baptism of Richard Crosland states "Rich'd, son of John Crosland of Bottom in Upperthong by Eliz'th Hinchliffe, born 25 Jul 1802, bapt 16th Aug 1802". This neither confirms or denies that the couple were married. Elizabeth Crosland is present in the 1841 census, but not in further censuses.
