David Branham, Revolutionary War Veteran served as a Militia Man in Montgomery County, VA Militia under Capt. John Isom's with his younger brother James Branham. Montgomery County Will Book 1 1780C1809 Page 220/J, David Branham was appointed by his Father to have power of attorney for the sale of land to Jack Cole of Montgomery on Little River on Indian Creek signed 7 Nov 1803 witness by John Spurlock presiding Justice of County Court for Floyd, proof of David Branham was living in Montgomery County, Virginia. The Settlements of Carroll County, Virgina 1765-1815, page 38: David Branham is one of the few early settlers on Burks Fork who did not stay. The Land Commission records indicate he settled 260-acre tract in 1772. In 1774 had this land surveyed, did not take the title but sold his rights to the Quaker Silas Williams.
