"On account of the meagre records at that time we find no record of his marriage, but from other sources we learn that he married Rebecca Olmsted, daughter of Capt. Nicholas Olmsted and Sarah (Loomis) his wife. ... In his will he mentions daughters Sarah Gates, Mabel Butler and Rebecca Bigelow. ... In 1707 John Bigelow deeded a portion of his property to Jonathan Butler, a nephew of his wife, and he is supposed to have died about 1721, as letters of administration were granted Dec. 5, 1721, to Rebecca his wife ..."
