EAMES, Jesse [dup. Emes Jr.] and Miriam [dup. Meriam] Fay of Southborough [dup. Southboro], Nov. 5 [dup. [Dec.] 21, 1786, in Southborough.
[Note: the original does not appear to be online, so not confirmed. Typically records saying "in xxx" were forwarded from that town due to the Acts of 1857, but this record is not listed in the Southboro VRs. The maiden name of Fay appears to be an error, as the Newton Genealogy says the wife was Miriam Newton, and several facts support this, such as being called widow Eames when her son Ezra Eames died in Southborough and Miriam Eames being appointed administratrix of John Newton who apparently came to live with her, she presumably his daughter, after his second wife died. If she married a Mr. Fay first, that marriage has not been located, and given her birth in 1762, there was not much time for an additional marriage before this 1786 marriage.]
