- Source:Brigham, Willard Irving Tyler. History of the Brigham Family : A Record of Several Thousand Descendants of Thomas Brigham the Emigrant, 1603-1653, p. 92, lists a son Abner, b. 1734, d. Princeton unm 1821, age 87. There is no birth record in Marlborough for Abner (1734 is calculated from the age at death), but the death is indeed recorded in Princeton. Of course, death records do not identify parents. No explanation of what evidence there is that suggests Abner is the son of Jedediah. Source:Brigham, Emma Elisabeth. History of the Brigham Family offers no changes to Jedediah's family in volume 2. Jedediah's son Stephen lived in Princeton, and named a son Abner (see Source:Blake, Francis E. History of the Town of Princeton, p. 2:32), and coincidentally died in the same month and year as that recorded for Abner. However, Jedediah did not mention any son Abner in his will, which is a major problem, especially combined with the lack of a birth record. The History of Princeton makes no mention of an older Abner Brigham, so one must wonder, was he a real person, or is it possible this is an erroneous death record, meant to be Stephen?
