Jean Nicholas Cuny, wife Rosalie (Julliot), daughter Marie Rosalie, sons Jean Joseph and Louis, and daughter Lucie and her husband Gabriel Marie (aka. George) Marshall emmigrated from France in 1881, arriving in Medford, Taylor County, Wisconsin, USA. Their son Jean Nicholas arrived with his wife family in 1887. The name Jean (John) was not commonly used. They were known as Nick, Joe and Nicholas. Soon after their father's death in 1899, Joe and Louis moved to Los Angeles, California, USA. Lucie and Gabriel settled in Cherry Creek, Chautauqua County, New York, USA and Nicholas' family in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA.
