Family:James Peters and Elizabeth Cooper (1)

Elizabeth Cooper, second child of James and Lucinda was born in Delaware Co. Ohio and came to Cain Twp. Fountain Co. In. with her parents. It was here that she met and married James William Peters. This was May 10, 1855 in Fountain Co. James was born October 4, 1833. Most All of their children were born in Indiana. Sometime after 1880 they moved to Kansas where they remained the rest of their lives. They had eleven (11) children in all. James W. passed away January 14, 1914 and Elizabeth passed away at the home of a daughter in St. Jo, Ill. This was September 30, 1919 and they were both buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in Narka Kansas. Their children are:

1. Melissa Jane Peters was born in 1856 and married Simon Bever, son of Christian and Lydia Hustand Bever. He was born in December 1839 and passed away @ 1930. They had six children:

2. John Franklin Peters was born in Fountain Co. in 1857 and on March 23, 1886 he married Laura A. Miles and they were the parents of four (4) children:

3. Laura Eveline Peters was born December 7, 1860 in Fountain Co. and on May 16, 1880 she married Daniel Davis, son of George and Elizabeth Davis. There will be very little rambling in this family as it is quite large and I have done some more research on it, but I have to run it down before I can type it. Eveline married a man by the name of Miller after, I believe Daniel's death. He was killed in a tragic automobile, train accident November 3, 1928, and Eveline passed away March 2, 1935. They were both laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery at Wingate In. They were the parents of six children:

4. Johanna (Josie) R. Peters was born April 24, 1862 in Fountain Co and on December 21, 1888 she married William A. (Lon) Riley. He passed away in 1920 and she married in 1927 Lewis Starnes. She passed away August 31, 1940 and the both were laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro. They had one daughter:

5. Albert Peters was born in Fountain Co. In. in 1864 and on April 30, 1878 he married Sarah E. Anderson and he passed away in 1882.

6. Parentha Mariah Peters was born in 1867 and married a man named "Hartman". They lived in St. Jo. Ill. and it was at their home that Elizabeth passed away. I have no further information on them only there were three children:

7. Emery Preston Peters was born in 1869 and had five children:

8. Clara Lucinda Peters was born in 1872 in Fountain Co. and married a "Runyon" and they had two children:

9. James Austin Peters was born in 18?4 in Fountain Co. and had seven children:

10. Simon Henry Peters was born in 1876 in Fountain Co. and passed away in 1959, but I have no idea where. He had two children:

11. William Peters was born in 1879 and on October 17, 1893 he married Anna McDonald. I have a tendency to doubt this information as he would have only been 14 years of age, but this is the best I can do for right now. There were five children:

This concludes the family of Elizabeth Peters. Most of the information was given to me; as I stated before by Mary Kathleen's Husband, Census records, marriage records and much of the information on the family of Floyd Davis from Fred Davis.
