  1. Source:Olmsted, Henry King. Genealogy of the Olmsted Family in America, p. 199, mentions this marriage, but gives no date and has no information at all about Charity Weeks. By all appearances this was simply copied from Source:Northrup, Ansel Judd. Northrup-Northrop Genealogy, p. 22, which likewise mentions it giving zero details. No record of such a marriage, nor any record of Charity Weeks has been found. Since the death record of James lists him as the son of his parents, there is at least a hint he never married? Any mention of this found on the Internet states it as a fact without any date or information about Charity Weeks, i.e., simply copied from the Olmsted Genealogy (some add a birth date in 1749 but this appears to be assumed based on James' birth as no such record is found).
