    Sir James Nasmyth was a member of Scottish Parliament in 1627, was Sheriff of County Peebles, heir to Thomas in 1609, and heir to Michael in 1611. Purchased 1/2 interest in Passo in 1617. Married Agnes Burnet, daughter of William Brunet of Barns, in 1610. William was son of John and grandson of Robertus Burnetville. John was chaplain in 1400 at Holyrood altar in Kirk of St. Gregory. Married Margaret Inglis.
