James Losee, son of Abraham Losee, married Mary Garrison 16 Feb 1816 in Fredericksburgh. The family lived in Ernestown into the 1830s. However, in 1834 James attempting to secure a land grant by virtue of his father Abraham's service in the Revolutionary War (as the son of a Loyalist). Abraham was not on the Loyalist rolls, possibly because he was a boy at the time of the Revolution (which did not actually preclude the possibility that he served as stated). James was not successful and it does not appear that his wife Mary was entitled to a land grant either as she never filed (which would be consistent with her father being William Garrison, who was not a Loyalist). The family then moved over the border to Jefferson County and the Cape Vincent area.
