22. JAMES 5 HUNTLEY, CAPTAIN (DANIEL 4, AARON 3, JOHN 2, UNKNOWN1) was born 16 Aug 1725 in Lyme, Connecticut, and died 25 Feb 1816 in East Lyme, Conneticut. He married LUCRETIA SMITH 21 Aug 1750 in Lyme, Connecticut. She was born 09 Nov 1734 in Lyme, Connecticut, and died ca. 1809 in Otsego, New York. Notes for JAMES HUNTLEY, CAPTAIN: Captain James Huntley, served in the American Revolution as Captain of a militia company in Lt. Col. Experience Storr's Conn. Regt. stationed at New York in the Fall of 1776. Later on, he was a member of the Committee in Lyme to provide supplies for the soldiers in 1777 and on the Committee to pay soldiers in 1778. He served on the Conn. Legislature from Lyme in 1793. "Huntley Hollow" where James Homestead was, was sold to Morton B. Plant in 1907, a Millionaire, who used it as a hunting preserve. It is now owned by the State of Conn. and used by the National Guard. The old Huntley house was torn down between 1960 and 1970.
