While the Bergthal Gemeinde Buch gives the marriage date as 1860, other sources indicate 1859, which is more likely, given that both were baptized in Jun 1859.

    "I, Jacob Sawatzky, was born Feb. 6, 1839 at 6 a.m., in Russia. My wife,Maria Sawatzky, was born Feb. 3, 1840. We were married Aug. 14, 1859...
    ...In 1886, my wife Maria passed away, Sept. 21st. She had been sick in bed for 31 weeks, 2 days. She lived 48 years, 3 weeks, 2 days. She was buried Sept. 23rd with 44 families attending the funeral.

    "In 1887, I, Jacob Sawatzky, married Helena Kaunnon..."

    "Our father died in 1900, June 2nd. He was buried June 4th, at the age of 61 years, 2 days."
