  2.   Source:Hill, William Carroll. Family of Bray Wilkins, Patriarch of Will's Hill, of Salem, Middleton, Mass, p. 53, shows Mehitable Wilkins, d/o Ichabod, marrying Israel. She was born in 1763, is several years older than Israel, and would have been 31 at the time of the marriage. Further, she seems too old (52) to have been the mother of a child in 1815, which Israel and Mehitable had. No explanation for Hill's assertion is given, and no will for Ichabod, who d. 1804, seems to be on file. So the basis for this match is unknown.

It seems far more likely that it was the Mehitable b. 1772, d/o David, that married Israel. Hill shows no disposition for her. Her father died 1779 insolvent according to this source, so again, no help from probate. But Israel and Mehitable named their first son David, and Knox, Maine, records give Mehitable Kenney's birth (recorded as an adult) as 1771.
