Verretta Jensen Toland March 22, 1930 ~ August 31, 2013

Longtime Pleasanton Resident, Verretta age 83, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on August 31, 2013. She was born to Isaac H. Jensen and Martha Call in Mantua, Utah. She was the tenth of 12 children and a twin to Vernetta Jensen Loveday.

As a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she dedicated countless years of service in the church and community. She was proud to help start the local chapter of the "Daughters of the Utah Pioneers." Verretta was an artist, publisher, teacher, world traveler, wife and mother of six.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Joe Toland, son Gary Toland (Karan), daughter Debbie Peck (Keith Brown), son Brad Toland, daughter Joetta Toland, son James Toland (Jimmy Yeh), son Scott Toland (Angie). She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank her friend and caregiver, Tea Ika, for her loving care in the last few years of her life.

Verretta loved her family deeply and had a passion for recording family history. We are forever grateful for the many "Toland Newstalks" she complied over the years for our benefit and generations to come. She was an example of unconditional love to us all and will be missed.

Funeral services will be held at the Pleasanton LDS Stake Center, 1600 Paseo Santa Cruz on Saturday September 7th 2013 at 10am. Graveside Service to follow at Pleasanton Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5780 Sunol Blvd., Pleasanton now called Pleasanton Pioneer Cemetery.
