"The following lists of Marriages and Births in Lancaster families, not found in preceding pages, being mostly of dates when town, county and church registers fail us, are supplementary … They have been made up from sundry sources supposed reliable. … Henry Willard and Dorcas Cutler, ____ 1689."
Regarding the ordering of children: the birth record of Samuel 31 May 1690 names him as son of Henry and DorcasLancaster VR p. 49, and given their marriage in 1689, he must be their eldest child. Henry's will of 24 Aug 1700 indicates the children of Dorcas as Samuell, James, Josiah, Abigail, Jonathan & Susannah. This list appears to be in birth order. According to Lancaster VR, "from sundry sources supposed reliable", there was also a daughter Tabitha who died young. Her position in the sequence is not known, but as Jonathan is usually supposed to have been born 1695, it seems reasonable to put her at the end.
