    Sarah, dau. of John, and Mary (Caughell) Lee, (gr-dau. of Dr. William Hooker Lee), born Sept. 17, 1822 at Westminster, Ont., married Dec. 14, 1841, Henry Roots, born at Boston, Mass., Sept. 9, 1811. He was a house builder; died at London, Sept. 2, 1893, aged 82. Children:
    *) Mary Elizabeth, born Oct. 27, 1842; m. Ralph Sumner, a farmer, at Westminster, Ont. She died Oct. 20, 1873.
    *) Amelia Eliza, born Sept. 22, 1845; lives at London.
    *) Matilda Maria, born Dec. 17, 1847; m. Charles Smith, June 25, 1897, born at Toronto; a farmer at London.
    *) Sarah, born Sept. 10, 1849; d. Feb. 22, 1852.
    *) John William, born June , 1851; m. Mary Cameron, 1872, Toronto.
    *) Elvira, born Oct. 30, 1854; d. Nov. 3, 1854.
    *) Phebe Ann, born Aug. 10, 1856; m. Dec. 11, 1881, Alexander McPherson, born Southwold, Ont.; a wholesale fruit dealer, at London, Ont., (1897.)
