Children
Henry was a union organizer, a machinist and a moulder of iron. Henry and Mary had nine children, four sons and five daughters. Henry's obituary reads, "PAPPERT. Henry Pappert, aged 49 years, a former resident of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday morning at Detroit. The announcement was received by relatives of this city yesterday, but no cause for his sudden death was given in the message. The deceased was a brother of Detective Sergeant W. F. Pappert, of the city department, and a sister, Mrs. Leonard Jacquel, also resides in this city. Mr. Pappert was born in Fort Wayne and learned his trade as a molder at the Bass foundry. During his residence in this city he was employed at times at the Western Gas Construction company and at the Kerr Murray Manufacturing company. He left Fort Wayne fifteen years ago. He is survived by a wife and several children, who reside in Detroit." [Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, Wednesday 29 November 1911, pg. 5] Mary's obituary reads, "PAPPERT. Mrs. Mary Pappert, 68, of Detroit, Mich., formerly of Fort Wayne, died suddenly Friday morning at her home in Detroit. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Celestine Gladieux of Zulu. Suviving are eight children; a stepmother, Mrs. Gladieux of Zulu; two brothers, Louis J. Gladieux of Jefferson township, Allen county, and F. C. Gladieux of Fort Wayne; and the following step-brothers and sisters: Charles Gladieux of Zulu, Mrs. Louis Vanderley of Tillman, Mrs. Charles Frane and Mrs. Ed Oberley of Jefferson township, and Mrs. Joseph Dager of Jackson township. Burial at Detroit Monday." [Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, Saturday 2 September 1933, pg. 2] They are both buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit, Michigan. References
