The children of Henry Downs of Mecklenburg are known to have been: Jane who was born on 16 January 1751 and married John Robinson; Joseph who was born on 23 April 1752 and died unmarried in 1774; Henry who was born on 28 July 1754, died in 1774, and married Miss Davis; Thomas who was born on 22 August 1756, died in 1839; and was married in 1788 to Mary Courtney who was born in 1768 and died in 1828; Samuel who was born on 7 May 1758 and married Miss Crockett; William who married Sarah Downs; and Mildred who was born on 22 July 1760 and married James Brewster who was born in 1759 in Virginia and died in 1804 in South Carolina.
