Grover and Hulda had eleven children, four sons and seven daughters.

Grover and Hulda moved 15 times while they were married. He worked in a stone quarry in Rimer, Ohio. He farmed the land at Thompson, Montville, and in Liberty Township. He did some dairy farming in Leetonia. He worked for Republic Steel, Copperweld, and the Warner Company. He also spent some time on a WPA project, the Meander Dam.

Grover was burned when he was a child. He developed lung problems later in life. He died of pneumonia. He died at the Warren City Hospital in Warren, Ohio. He was 58 years, 8 months and 19 days old when he died. Hulda was the informant for his death certificate. His doctor was James J. Tyler, M. D. of Warren, Ohio.

Hulda had high blood pressure. She also suffered from arthritis. She was 85 years old at the time of her death.
