Family:George Parkhurst and Sarah Garfield (1)

Source:The New England Historical and Genealogical Register, p. 156:330, "English Origins of Edward Garfield of Watertown", by Robert Charles Anderson, discusses how Edward Garfield's will mentions a granddaughter Sarah Parkhurst even though his daughter Abigail (thought to have married John Parkhurst) is clearly identified in the same will as unmarried. Therefore, another daughter must have married a Parkhurst. Further, the settlement of the estate of Abraham Browne mentions only a grandson John Parkhurst, d/o George Parkhurst and his daughter Sarah Browne, suggesting Sarah Parkhurst, if she lived, was not the daughter of Sarah Browne. Since this article points out that Edward Garfield had a daughter Sarah baptised in England, the obvious solution is that George Parkhurst married Sarah Browne and had son John 1644, then married Sarah Garfield and had daughter Sarah 1649. His last marriage to Mary Pheza/Veazey 24 Sep 1650 is a matter of record.
