There is a brick building in downtown Boothbay Harbor known as the Gregory Block, built about 1901 at the intersection of Commercial, Townsend, Oak and McKown streets by Dr. George Gregory, who had his office on the second floor and the C. J. Marr clothing store occupied the ground floor level. Dr. Gregory also owned the adjoining wooden building to the east, which housed the bank and the customs house for Boothbay. Dr. Gregory's son, Philip, also became a physician and opened a practice here. The family owned the building until 1964, when it was sold to Louis Paine, who ran Paine's clothing store.[2]
