Family:George Espy and Polly Patterson (1)

In 1789 George settled Espyville, Crawford County, PA and for some yearscarried on a saw mill, grist mill, and distillery near the "Big Spring." In their later years George and his wife became Swedenborgians. In 1813 George was commissioned Captain and marched to Fort Erie with histhree sons Patterson, Thomas Stevenson, and James, and most of theable-bodied men of the neighborhood, but their company was not musteredfor service. George and Polly are buried at their farm in Espyville.
